Johns Joins Leadership Committee of GACC TN Chapter, Focuses on Providing Value for German Enterprises in the Region
President of Bluewater Consulting® plans to emphasize key trends impacting businesses in the automotive, metals, and other industry clusters
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Bluewater Consulting, a specialized professional services and consulting firm based in Knoxville, Tenn., has announced that Margaret Johns, president, has joined the leadership committee for the Tennessee chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce.
“We are pleased that Margaret has taken this step to lend direct support for the many German-owned enterprises in our local region. With the dynamics that are occurring in key end markets such as automotive, aerospace, composites and metals processing; we believe that the timing is optimal to provide business leaders with valuable insights and opportunities for critical decision making and strategies for obtaining maximum value. Margaret, through her expertise in supporting German companies both domestically and abroad, brings unique perspectives that we are eager to apply within the region,” said Bill Johns, founder and chief executive officer of the Bluewater-Sundown Companies™.
After leaving her role as a global director of marketing and sales for Agilent Technologies, Margaret developed the test & measurement and materials science practice areas of Bluewater Consulting. Her work focused on providing best-in-class integrated marketing, sales education, sales support and public relations services for global manufacturers of lab instrumentation and testing equipment. Her experience led to the development of long-term relationships with key German companies and inspired the establishment of Bluewater Consulting’s German practice area focusing on innovative, entrepreneurial, and technology-based organizations.
“In our German practice area, we partner with companies seeking differentiation and professional support for maintaining their brands and industry leader positions. We adapt their sales methodologies and messaging to make them effective in the North America market. We pair our deep skills in functional areas such as sales, business development and marketing with our knowledge of American business practices, consumption of content and buying behaviors. The combination of these capabilities and our proven methodologies enable us to deliver results quickly,” said Margaret Johns, president.
Johns said she looks forward to the opportunity to engage with clients in the local region and to leverage her expertise in supporting company executives through advisement and workshops, sales and business development, brand enhancement, industry research, marketing communications, strategic and tactical public relations, M&A, change management, and quality management.
“Up until recently, our efforts have been largely concentrated in other regions across the U.S. and in Europe. With the growth and investments that are occurring within the southeastern U.S., we are now focusing increasingly on support for German enterprises and other innovative entities in the local East Tennessee region,” said Johns.
“We are pleased to have this opportunity to work in concert with other professionals on the leadership committee for the Tennessee chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce. There are several trends impacting businesses in the region, such as automotive lightweighting initiatives and the expansion of industry clusters. We have worked with clients across multiple value chains that are addressing these impacts and we look forward to leveraging our expertise and our vast network for clients in Tennessee and neighboring states,” stated Johns.
